Moved to Seattle

Lots of ice, no sno-cones.

Winter seems to be lingering in Renton. While I've heard from my former co-workers in VA that they are having a mild winter (60 degrees and sunny) and my family in CA that winter is very harsh (60 degrees and sunny), I appear to be trapped in the arctic circle.

Four inches of snow in one evening...inconceivable!

Yet, once again, it occurred. The results...two days of very icy roads with almost no traction. Thank goodness (I guess) for my two years in VA, where I learned to (haphazardly) drive on ice.

So far, the best part of winter has been the teenager that showed up at my front door and offered to shovel the walk and driveway for $10. He's coming back in summer to mow my grass.

Hey, it has gotten down to 40 here in sunny So. Cal. and I have to say: BBBRRR! We don't like that here. It messes with our world view.

Anywhooo, good job on recruiting the teenager--a valuable American resource!

But now to the important query: what with the paint? Did you go with the duck? I need swatches posted.

Did you see the Space Needle yet?

Not only have I seen the Space Needle, I have been to the top! (Of course, that was about 10 years ago.) Now, it's a signal that I'm approaching over-priced parking and bad traffic. :)
